We are a collaborative showcase featuring female dance talent and choreography within the
Toronto dance scene. Women in Dance will give Dancers and Choreographers, the amazing opportunity
to share their passion of dance and highlight their creativity to our immediate community.
We are an artistic dance show that is created, performed and inspired by women.

Women in Dance provides female Dancers and Choreographers, the opportunity to showcase their work and share their passion.
We will inspire and awe audiences through creative expressions of dance, while supporting and highlighting talent in all forms of dance,
through our showcase.
Women in Dance is a proud supporter of giving back to the community, specifically charitable organizations related to women.
For our 2008 showcase, Women in Dance partnered with Rethink Breast Cancer and raised $3,000 to this charitable cause. For 2009, Women in Dance will be partnering with various women shelters within the GTA to give back to and support women in need.
Together, let’s celebrate the female’s Pleasure, Sympathy, Grace and Rebellion..

Laura Furtado and Melissa Nascimento-So are two vibrant young ladies who met in the summer of 2007, in the Azores, Portugal.
Both dancers were personally invited by the Azorean government to participate in a showcase, performed by dancers worldwide.
From this experience, an instant connection was established between both women, creating a strong friendship and partnership.
Although both have different dance backgrounds, there exists a common thread of extensive experience in the dance industry and
a great passion for the art. Through their passion, energy, ambition, and the presence of a vibrant friendship, Women in Dance was born.
